Construction Defect Law:

Other cases include a 586 unit condominium project that settled in excess of 14.5 million with a comprehensive repair program.

CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW:

The attorneys with the law firm of Gerard & Associates have extensive experience in the representation of consumers in class action litigation involving faulty products or services, which are the subject of unfair and deceptive trade practices.

Past consumer cases include Williams v. Shell, which involved defective plastic plumbing that was marketed by Shell Chemical Company. This matter resolved with an extensive repair program that included the replacement of the defective plastic plumbing systems with new copper pipes, at no cost to the homeowner. Other representative cases include:

• Buonomo v. Value Vision - Class action against a major home shopping channel for deceptive marketing of computers with Afree @ internet services.
• Cioe v. Shell Chemical - Class action against Shell Chemical (amongst others) for defective plastic plumbing systems within manufactured homes.
• County of San Diego v. Philip Morris - Co-counsel in the representation of the County of San Diego against numerous tobacco manufacturers, with nationwide settlement providing millions to the County for approximately twenty years.
